Local Roller Derby League Launches New Brand Logo
The new logo symbolizes the NRV Roller Girls’ focus on athleticism and community.
CHRISTIANSBURG, Virginia – The NRV Roller Girls will be unveiling a new league logo on Monday, June 3, 2013 at 5:30PM at Frank’s Bar of 622 North in Blacksburg, Va. The new logo symbolizes the NRV Roller Girls’ focus on strength, athleticism, and sportsmanship and promotes their continued patronage of the New River Valley community. The new logo marks a dramatic change in the team’s visual identity from their original logo designed in 2007.
“Our new logo better communicates what the NRV Roller Girls stands for today,” said NRV Roller Girls President Stephanie Beeman. “We hope to convey a sense of focus and sportsmanship within the derby organization while showing that we fully support and take pride in our local community.”
Designed by graphic artist, Jeremy Friend, the new logo identifies and presents the organization as a modern and competitive roller derby league while exhibiting the strength derived from their Appalachian roots.
